Delete Your Account
You can ask for your CivicCore account and associated data to be deleted. This page explains how to request it and what happens next.
How to request deletion
There are two routes, and either is fine:
- Ask your party administrator. They can deactivate your account and start the deletion process on your behalf. This is usually the fastest route.
- Contact us directly using the contact form. Choose “Support” and include the phone number registered to your account so we can identify it.
We will confirm the request before anything is deleted, so an account cannot be removed by someone else on your behalf.
What gets deleted
- Your account and sign-in credential.
- Your membership profile — name, contact details, gender, date of birth, national ID number, and your region, constituency and ward.
- Your profile photo.
- Your device push notification token.
What may be retained, and why
Some records cannot simply be erased, either because the law requires them or because deleting them would damage records that belong to other people:
- Donation records are retained to meet campaign finance and tax obligations. They are kept as financial records rather than as part of your profile.
- Election results and verification records you submitted as a polling agent form part of the official record of an election and are retained.
- Audit log entries recording administrative actions are retained, because an audit trail that can be edited afterwards is not an audit trail.
- Messages you sent to others may remain visible in their threads, in the same way an email you have sent stays in the recipient's inbox.
Where records are retained, we minimise them — keeping what the obligation requires and removing the rest.
How long it takes
We aim to action confirmed requests within 30 days and will tell you when it is done, along with anything retained and the reason.
Alternatives worth considering
If your concern is narrower than deletion, there may be a better fit:
- Turn off push notifications in your device settings.
- Withdraw location permission in your device settings — only location-tagged reports are affected.
- Edit most profile fields directly in the app.
- Ask an administrator to deactivate your account without deleting it, if you may return later.
